There’s like nothing on TV over the summer, so I’ve been using the past couple months to catch up on some shows I missed when they premiered. I tend to do that every year; last summer was when I started watching ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and now it’s one of my favorite shows. This summer, I’ve gotten through the first few seasons of Doctor Who; the first season of Torchwood; and I’m working on Greek.

As I learn more about Web design, I realize how easy it is to make a mistake that causes your site to not work properly on a certain browser, or to forget about users with smaller screen resolutions. Firefox is my browser of choice, so that is what my work is usually tested in first. What I have learned the hard way is that it is important to test your work throughout the process, not just when you’re done. Trust me, it’s much easier to fix a problem when you’re checking along the way.
I'm entitled to give this post a title
Okay, so here’s a word usage rule that bugs me to no end. And smart people mess this one up all the time. What’s wrong with this sentence? Louisa May Alcott wrote a book entitled “Little Women.”
Birthday swag
So my 30th birthday yesterday was very nice. I had a coupon for a buy one, get one free at Sweet Tomatoes, so Steve and I had a huge lunch. We were going to go see “Iron Man” afterwards, but the timing didn’t work out right, so we spent the afternoon on a fruitless search for a good deal on a web design book.
Hooray for cupcakes
We had a photo shoot at work that required hundreds of cupcakes. I was among those who volunteered to do some baking. (About 400 cupcakes were made total) I wanted to do something a little different, so I piped on the icing and swirled two colors together by spooning two shades of icing into the piping bag. As long as you keep them separated as much as possible, it comes out with a nice swirl.
