Here are the 30 books I read in 2011. I know this because I use Goodreads and gave myself a 30-book goal for 2011. Just barely made it, too, finishing ‘Ender’s Game’ on Dec. 30.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ recently came out, so I was browsing DeviantArt the other day looking for a Harry Potter wallpaper. I came across so many great pieces of art that I thought I’d share some of my favorites here.
‘Swamplandia!’ was interesting, well-written and had really great characters. But I hated it. I know I’m in the minority. The author has received several awards, and most reviewers — including the New York Times — loved it.
Okay, I’m definitely not Oprah. But her annual list of things she enjoys got me thinking about the things I like. I’m pretty sure my list doesn’t intersect much with hers — I don’t exactly have her financial resources. From shampoo to a great audiobook to websites and podcasts I love, these things are some of my favorites.
Okay so this is massively outdated. The Webby Awards, which recognize online excellence, were held in early June. Here’s a listing of this year’s winners.
