I recently wrote a blog post for my employer’s website about Amazon Associates, the internet retailer’s program for site owners to make money by referring customers to Amazon. I use it on this site (for example, the “recently read” links in the footer) as well as at my other site, Curvy List.

‘Swamplandia!’ was interesting, well-written and had really great characters. But I hated it. I know I’m in the minority. The author has received several awards, and most reviewers — including the New York Times — loved it.

A couple weeks ago I decided to make some French toast for Sunday breakfast, but I wanted to top it with something more special than pancake syrup. I decided a berry sauce would be perfect. I used frozen berries, and the sauce came out great. Serve it with French toast, pancakes, waffles or (my favorite) good quality vanilla ice cream.

Okay, I’m definitely not Oprah. But her annual list of things she enjoys got me thinking about the things I like. I’m pretty sure my list doesn’t intersect much with hers — I don’t exactly have her financial resources. From shampoo to a great audiobook to websites and podcasts I love, these things are some of my favorites.
